Swank place, decent beer selection with great tasting appetizer menu, and they have a lounge with chairs and a piano (a DJ occupies that space later in the evening). Most recently I went out there with my wife and 2 other couples for New Year's Eve, and just drank at the bar at our hotel ( Hotel Zoso). The crowd there isn't the best looking, and there is tons of cigarette smoking. We stayed Agua Caliente Casino (the one off the 10 in Thousand Palms, not in Palm Springs) and so we bought our own booze and drank it while we played (or you can pay the casino for alcohol, it's not free even while playing, and they cutoff at 1 or 2AM).
I did this last September, it proved to be a little challenging as the majority of bars/clubs in Palm Springs are geared towards gay people, and we are all straight.
